Overview
Responsibility
As a Product Designer, my responsibilities included designing the new product from 0 to MVP. I was collaborating with my Lead Senior Product Designer, who was responsible for the discovery phase for the internal platform for managers.

My goal was to design an additional mobile app for clinicians, based on the gained insight and main problem in mind. I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams, provided development support, and maintained the design system for the iOS application.

This product was designed in 2023.
About Product
The product for the healthcare organization provides a connection between the facility and clinicians, helping them meet their patient care goals and find work opportunities.
🎯 Challenges
  • Automate workflow: Streamline scheduling and communication processes for clinicians, enhancing efficiency in managing their schedules and interaction with facilities.
  • Build transparency: Meet the needs and expectations of providers and facilities as quickly and effectively as possible.
  • Boosting Shift Fill Rates: Not all providers are actively engaged – the majority of registered clinicians receive fewer shifts, mainly due to the manual shift assignment process and managerial errors.
📈 Impact
  • Amount of the filled shifts with clinicians.
  • The number of canceled shifts has decreased.
All real data have been replaced or blurred. Facilities’ images were generated by AI.
🏥 Discovery
Product and Business Goals
Utilizing the Lean Canvas Framework, I explored more business details. This helped me uncover the real business problems, understand our users better, and come up with potential solutions. For example, there was uncovered the problem of controlling the working hours of clinicians – allowing them to fake it, or simply losing the paper timesheet.
✏️ Define
Informational Architecture
With challenges and solutions in focus, it was time to build an intuitive informational architecture for the mobile app, aligning it with user needs and project objectives.
⚙️ Develop and Delivery
Wireframing and Low-fidelity prototypes
Using the established informational structure, I conceptualized the app through low-fidelity wireframes, while also defining a style guide for a consistent and enhanced user experience.
A mobile app designed for clinicians that offers the ability to find and request well-matched shifts from facilities, with tracking working hours, and allowing control over their schedules.
Shifts scheduling
Clinicians can manage their work shifts by reviewing the 'Scheduled' ones and checking pending requests. Additionally, users can explore new opportunities in the 'Discovery' section. By navigating with a date slider, clinicians are focusing on their schedule and planning for the next days.
The core feature is a 'Match' engine that suggests shifts matching clinicians' professional licenses, taking into account their work preferences.
Automatized ‘Clock-in’ flow
The clinician can begin the shift at the facility using the app. By simply clicking the 'Clock-in' button, work will start. Users can track the shift time, prevent overtime, and receive reminders about breaks.
After completing the shift at the facility, the clinician can confirm their activity and upload the signed timesheet card.
More details about work place
These pages help clinicians to understand their work details better and choose the work locations. Clinicians can effortlessly review all shift details provided by the manager.
Additionally, users can explore and find any facility within their state, accessing essential details for informed decision-making.
Availability Calendar
Clinicians have access to choose the days and shift types they prefer to work. This data syncs with the facilities' system, enabling managers to identify the right candidates.
Clinicians profile
Credentials can be uploaded to the app, allowing facility managers to easily verify candidates without clinicians’ need for additional hours spent on bringing documents to the office. The app also notifies users about expiring credentials, helping to keep them up-to-date.
Additionally, users can receive payments for shifts and track their earnings, all in one place.
✨ Bonus
Illustrations
In addition to the UI of the interface, I crafted illustrations that not only create a welcoming mood in the app but also highlight specific key details in the product.
