Overview

Pòdruga Club is a women community for those who are looking for friends and open to communication. Based in Odesa 🇺🇦

Problem Statement

Finding real friends in adulthood becomes more and more difficult. People aren’t as open to spontaneous friendships as they were in childhood, adult life already comes with enough problems, and no one was ever really taught the culture of maintaining social connections.

That’s why my very good friend reached out to me with an idea of this club. My help was in the designing the tone-of-voice to make this club visible.

The Concept of “Dating-Like Profile”

To join the club, you simply fill out a form about your interests, hobbies, and expectations. After that, you received an invitation to our club chat, where you could view your profile as others. From there, you could connect with women who share your interests and take part in events organized by the community.

We created a template to help introduce each member. It featured a branded profile with your favorite photo, name, contact details, and a short introduction about yourself.

Attributes

This club became a way to recognize those who are not only open but truly happy to meet someone new. That’s why we designed a special accessory for every member. You can pin it to your bag, keychain, or phone — a small sign that you belong to the club and are open to being approached.

Stickers and business cards

We also designed stickers and cards to promote the community. Members could share them with friends, colleagues, or even other women they met on the street. Stickers could be placed in public spaces or simply on a laptop. Each item included a QR code that led to community webpage with all the details on how to join the club.

Why it’s matter?

After the pandemic and with the rise of technology, many people face a “loneliness pandemic.” The war in Ukraine has deepened this — as many left their homes, friendships and communities were torn apart.

My city welcomed a lot of people from different cities, and that’s why building a community like this felt important. Place, where women can support each other. I also wanted to support my friend’s dream of bringing women together.
